Peter Hendy

Chief Executive Officer

Peter is an experienced, versatile, dedicated, and results-oriented executive credited with combining a background in finance and information technology with a natural leadership ability to guide companies toward more efficient processes, improved productivity, and increased revenue. He has a proven track record of turning around failing companies through financial and executive leadership, risk analysis, change management, and new process implementation. And, has demonstrated the ability to create and implement mentorship programs for motivated, resourceful employees. He also has particular expertise in implementing financial systems that enhance a company’s ability to right-size costs and resources, improve productivity, and boost overall satisfaction for employees and clients. Prior to co-founding Synergy, he was the Chief Financial Officer of the American Council for Voluntary International Action, one of several CFO positions he has held throughout his career.

He has been involved in multiple financial systems implementations linking accounting, finance and technology to drive forward operational excellence. Peter brings hands-on experience in diverse corporate environments where he led several enterprise resource management selection processes and implementations, automating many transactions processes and creating operational efficiencies.

Peter has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Management Accountants and the American Purchasing Managers Association and holds a Project Management Professional Certification.

Peter Hendy

CRAIG O. CHAPMAN

President

Craig is a retired  federal human resources professional who was a respected leader with a proven record of success. Over his 30-year federal career, he attained vast experience in human capital management, strategic planning, software implementations, business process reengineering, and payroll operations.  He began his federal career as a Management Intern with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. After 10 years of serving as a Labor and Employee Relations Specialist, Craig transitioned into the HR Technology arena to implement PeopleSoft.  FERC was recognized as being the first and only federal agency to implement PeopleSoft Payroll.  Craig supported the establishment of the Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) Payroll Service Provider group, using the PeopleSoft platform.  He quickly moved into management and served as the Director of the Payroll, Administration, and Integration Division, with responsibility for the agency’s HR and Financials Systems.  Craig also led the transition of payroll servicing from the VA to the National Finance Center, as mandated by legislation under the eGov initiative.

After a lengthy career at FERC, Craig joined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to lead a newly established organization to manage all human resources technology and business process improvement (BPI) initiatives.  He had program responsibility for all projects involving new technologies.  As a certified green belt in OCC’s Lean Six Sigma methodology, Craig was responsible for all HR related BPI projects.  Craig led the functional and technical components of integrating the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) into the OCC, as stipulated by Congress through legislation documented in the Dodd-Frank Act. He developed the overall strategic approach from a cross-agency perspective, providing guidance and counsel to the newly established Consumer Finance and Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the other two agencies that were delegated functions through the abolishment of OTS.  Craig developed an implementation plan that was widely accepted by the senior executives within the Department of Treasury, OTS, CFPB, FDIC, and the National Finance Center. 

Craig later joined the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), from which he retired, to lead a new organization that was established to manage the agency’s human resources information systems, as well as, its payroll operations.  Craig led the automation of a number of complex HR service offerings through an integrated platform, while streamlining processes.  These included major capital investment projects such as: 1) an Integrated Talent Management System supporting all major Human Capital functions; and 2) an Enterprise Human Capital Repository, providing the capability to store, protect, archive, classify, retrieve, and retire pertinent business information and documents. He also managed the SEC’s relationship with the Department of Interior’s Interior Business Center (IBC) for payroll servicing and other IBC HR Shared Service offerings. 

Craig is a proud graduate of Howard University, where he attained his Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics.  He is a co-owner and co-founder of Synergy Partner Solutions, LLC.  As President, he is responsible for the creation and implementation of the company’s strategic vision, mission, and goals.  Craig is constantly pursuing innovative and creative opportunities for SPS to set new trends in the industry.  He draws on his vast experience to develop business solutions that address organizational challenges which span across multiple industries.
